Celebrating the Women of EDCi: Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the incredible women who shape our communities, industries, and workplaces. At EDCi, we’re proud to highlight some of the women whose talents, leadership, and dedication contribute to our company’s success every day. From finance to technology to leadership, the women of EDCi bring diverse experiences, perspectives, and strengths that help drive innovation and collaboration across our organization. Their stories remind us of the importance of mentorship, confidence, perseverance, and supporting one another along the way. Below, a few of the remarkable women of EDCi share their journeys, advice, and the people who inspire them.
The Power of Learning and Mentorship

For many women at EDCi, career growth has been fueled by the opportunity to learn from others and mentor the next generation. Kristin, a Senior Accountant, shares that her passion for numbers led her to a career in finance, and she takes pride in contributing to the success of a thriving woman-owned company. Throughout her career, Kristin has learned the value of mentorship, gaining insight from leaders at different levels and across disciplines. She encourages others to seek guidance from those around them and to stay persistent in their goals. “Take the time to learn from your superiors. They are truly there to help you succeed. Don’t be discouraged if things aren’t going at your planned pace. Keep working hard and showing others what you’re capable of.”

Kristin also highlights the importance of workplace flexibility, recognizing that many women balance multiple roles in their lives. “Women are more productive and loyal to a company that understands they have many roles – as moms, daughters, and professionals. That understanding leads to success both at work and at home.”
Confidence and Breaking Barriers

In the technology field, women are still underrepresented, making confidence and advocacy especially important. Tasha, a Customer Experience Engineer at EDCi, emphasizes the importance of believing in your abilities and speaking up for yourself. After spending a decade in social work, she transitioned into technology and quickly realized how powerful mentorship and encouragement from other women can be. “We are often our hardest critics and sell ourselves short. Stop doing this. Be confident in who you are and your skills. Take up space, apply for those jobs, and don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself.”
Working in a traditionally male-dominated field, Tasha finds inspiration in her colleagues and values the strong support system among the women on her team. “I’ve never met a group of women quite like this team—everyone is incredibly knowledgeable, goes the extra mile, and is kind and compassionate.” She also hopes her work helps pave the way for more women entering the technology field.
Advice for the Next Generation

Many of the women at EDCi share a common message for girls interested in careers in technology and other evolving industries: go for it. Liz encourages young women to pursue careers in tech with confidence. “All fields are better with a diverse group of people—from gender, education, race, income, and more. Diversity in IT will improve it overall.” She emphasizes the importance of teamwork, transparency, and continuous learning as key ingredients for success in the technology industry.

Patti shares that while the ever-changing nature of technology can be challenging, it’s also what makes the work exciting. “We’re always learning new things. And when someone tells you the software you developed made their job easier or saved them time, it’s a great feeling of accomplishment.” She also reminds young women that success in tech comes down to a few key traits: perseverance, communication, and a positive attitude.
The Women Who Inspire Us

Behind every successful woman are often other women who helped shape her path. For Kristin, her biggest inspiration is her mother, who worked full-time throughout her life and modeled dedication and perseverance. She also credits her aunt, who worked in finance, with helping inspire her career path.

Tasha draws inspiration from the strong women in her personal life as well, including friends who challenge themselves through athletic competitions and careers in public service.
Sarah reflects on the lessons passed down through the women in her family, including the importance of authenticity, resilience, and living life with a full heart. Sarah strives to pass along the lessons she’s learned from the strong women in her life to her daughter: “Take whatever life throws at you, look it straight in the eye and say, ‘Let’s do this.’”

Liz mentioned how she is inspired daily by her daughter Jovani, “She is the strongest woman I know. Life has thrown all kinds of things at her, but she just comes back stronger and better than before.”
